Illinois Congressman/industrial engineer calls town meeting with IPC employees

BANNOCKBURN, IL. Illinois Congressman Brad Schneider, who is also an industrial engineer and business consultant, yesterday held a town hall meeting with the IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries, to answer questions and discuss issues with IPC employees.

Rep. Schneider says he loves discussing manufacturing, and regarding the negative trend in manufacturing in the U.S., Schneider believes growth is possible – by investing in the infrastructure, with a focus on technology and science. During the meeting, several other topics were covered, including education, the economy, and conflict minerals.

Rep. Schneider was supportive of and involved with IPC policy efforts in 2013, including being the lead Democratic sponsor of a bi-partisan letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding the Definition of Solid Waste (DSW) rule.

John Mitchell, IPC President & CEO, says of the meeting: “IPC is grateful for the Congressman’s time and his genuine concerns in not only what’s important to our employees, but also the issues important to electronics manufacturers.
