High-power for power-intensive Ethernet devices
Power over Ethernet (PoE) has become indispensable in today's industrial environment. The advantages of this technology are obvious: low cabling and operating costs, fast installation and greater application flexibility. What the current PoE standard IEEE 802.3af/at lacks, however, is the necessary power to run more and more power-intensive devices. The new PoE standard IEEE 802.3bt should pave the way for this in the future.
Meanwhile, ICP Deutschland already has a suitable high-power PoE series with a power capacity of 60W per port. Thus, HMI devices or Powered Devices (P.D.) with a power consumption of more than 15W can be connected to the Ethernet network without any problems. The portfolio includes the Ethernet switch IGPS-9084GP-60W, the media converter IPMC-111PB++60W, the injector INJ-101GT++60W-24V, the splitter SPL-101GT++ and the PoE extender PET-102GT++.
The IGPS-9084GP-60W is a managed PoE Ethernet switch that offers smart management in addition to the common network functions. This allows for example an individual port configuration regarding power mode, primary power source, current priority or maximum power supply.
The compact media converter IPMC-111PM-60W is optimized for use in the control cabinet and is equipped with a SFP port. The integrated LFP (Link Fault Pass-through) function ensures that subsequent devices are correctly addressed despite link failures.
The 101GT++60W-24V injector with its extended voltage input from 9 to 57VDC is suitable for a wide range of applications and supplies power only to PoE-capable Ethernet devices.
The two SPL-101GT++ splitters, however, are able to split the combined power and data supply of the LAN cable and convert the current into an output voltage of 12V or 24V.
Great distances can be easily bridged with the PoE extender PET-102GT++. Connected to CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables, distances of up to 600m can be realized without additional power cables. A unique feature of the splitters and the PoE extender is that they can supply PoE P.D. devices with up to 90W.
