ARBOR to Showcase Gladius Rugged IoT Computers at Embedded World 2015

ARBOR will present their new Android phablets series during Embedded World. The best device combining Communications, ergonomy and android os from a smartphone with all the interfaces of a professional rugget tablet (codebar, RFID et NFC readers).

ARBOR Technology, a leading provider of embedded computing solutions, has announced its new Gladius rugged IoT computer series in summer 2014 as a general-purpose rugged Android-based device, and also as a building block for emerging IoT applications. The new products will be presented with live demos at the Embedded World 2015 in Nurnberg, Germany February 24-26 in Hall 2, stand 2-319.

The Gladius devices are versatile, state-of-the-art rugged handheld multi-purpose mobile tools for IoT projects in logistics, warehousing, retail, fleet and healthcare. Available in various display sizes (currently 5.5, 7.85 and 10.1 inches), they are equipped with projected capacitive multi-touch panel with anti-reflection Corning® Gorilla® glass.

Powered by MTK Quad-core CPU and Android operating system, the Gladius features the powerful system and user-friendly interface. They are compliant with MIL-STD-810G & IP-65 certified, 1.5m (5ft.) drop resistance, which makes them a robust tool with capability of withstanding potential hazards such as shock, vibration, dust and moisture. Other features include the high capacity battery with up to 10-hour prolonged usage, and Qi standard wireless charging for safer connection.

The Gladius rugged IoT devices combine high-performance RFID/NFC reading, 1D/2D barcode scanning and WLAN/WWAN/BT wireless functionality to cover a wide variety of working requirements. Ergonomic design, advanced sealing, and damage resistance make them suitable for productivity-enhancing deployment even in the harshest environments. Providing data capture and analysis anywhere and anytime, the Gladius devices help in anticipating and detecting problems as well as in intelligent decision making and proactive resolution, making them a crucial part of IoT real-time analytic platforms.
