To comply with customer needs, Mellor Electrics tested several options to achieve precise torque measurements and produce the speed/torque graphs, as required by their customer. Formerly, the team used a variety of bespoke setups to equipment, resulting in a complicated and inflexible solution. Looking for an alternative online, they sourced our M425 non-contact rotary torque sensor, which has a proven track-record of being used for motor testing and process control applications. Now, as a result of these thorough testing procedures, Mellor was able to gain all the relevant output info that their customers required. They were able to profile the gear motor's performance under various loads, noting the motor's speed, torque and power output, as well as calculating the motor efficiency.
